Alibaba named Eddie Wu, Alibaba Group chief executive, to lead a newly formed Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) business group, the company said.
ATH will combine Tongyi Laboratory, the MaaS Business Line, the Qwen Business Unit, the Wukong Business Unit, and the AI Innovation Business Unit.
Alibaba said ATH’s mission would be to “create, deliver, and apply tokens” and that it would focus on building AI-native work platforms for enterprises.
The announcement comes weeks after Lin Junyang, who led Alibaba’s Qwen AI model division, announced his departure and was the third senior Qwen executive to exit this year.
The move places several AI units under Wu’s oversight.
