Google Adds Chat Import to Gemini to Rival ChatGPT

Google has added an import option in its Gemini AI assistant that lets users bring chat history from other AI tools, as it competes with ChatGPT and Claude.

The company said Gemini users can upload files containing conversations from other AI providers using the new import feature in Gemini.

Google also published a suggested prompt to help users summarize data from other assistants before importing it into Gemini.

The update comes as AI firms add switching tools to win and retain users, after Anthropic rolled out a similar memory import feature earlier this month.
