Amazon Web Services Korea disclosed plans to expand its South Korea AI and cloud infrastructure and to use generative AI agents in security incident investigations.
AWS Korea plans to invest an additional 7 trillion won (US$4.56 billion) from 2025 to 2031 to expand AI and cloud infrastructure, bringing its total investment to 12.6 trillion won (US$8.21 billion).
AWS Korea said the investment could add about 15.1 trillion won (US$9.84 billion) to South Korea’s GDP and mark the largest investment by a global cloud provider in the country.
AWS also highlighted its security incident response service, adding new controls and mandatory MFA across account types.
