Apple Music Lets Labels Flag AI-generated Tracks

Apple Music will allow record labels and distributors to add metadata tags that flag AI-generated or AI-assisted content when uploading to the platform.

The tags cover artwork, the track, composition, and music videos, appearing alongside standard fields such as song title and artist name.

The system appears to be opt-in, leaving it to labels and distributors to declare AI use rather than relying on automated detection.

Spotify is pursuing a similar disclosure approach, while other services, such as Deezer, are developing in-house AI-detection tools that face accuracy challenges.

A Reddit user posted a mock-up of a similar feature days earlier, which seems like something Apple Music users are interested in.
