OpenAI said it is adding interactive visual explanations to ChatGPT to help users explore more than 70 core math and science concepts and will roll the feature out globally across all plans to logged-in users.
The module lets users adjust variables and manipulate formulas to see how changes affect graphs and outcomes in real time.
OpenAI cited research that visual, interactive learning can improve conceptual understanding compared with traditional instruction.
The company said about 140 million people use ChatGPT weekly to help them understand math and science concepts and that early testers, including students and parents, reported the visuals helped them grasp variable relationships.
Initial topics include the Pythagorean theorem, PV = nRT, Ohm’s law, and circle area.
