China has launched its first automated humanoid robot production line in Foshan, with an annual capacity of more than 10,000 units and a production rate of one robot every 30 minutes.
China Daily reported that the facility uses high-precision digital manufacturing systems to ensure efficiency and quality, marking a shift from experimental models to fully industrialized products, as China seeks to strengthen its position in advanced technologies.
Key developers include Unitree Robotics, XPeng Robotics, UBTech Robotics and Fourier Intelligence, along with other firms working on robots for industrial and service applications.
Meanwhile, parallel efforts in Shanghai are scaling up production of core components such as robotic joints. Initial capacity stands at 100,000 units per year, with plans for expansion.
