Kakao Mobility partners with HD Hyundai XiteSolution to expand the physical AI ecosystem into logistics sites.
Kakao Mobility announced on the 19th that it has signed a strategic cooperation MOU with HD Hyundai XiteSolution for “building a next-generation unmanned logistics and physical AI ecosystem.”
Through this agreement, Kakao Mobility’s capabilities in integrated control of heterogeneous mobile entities, task optimization, and transportation management platforms will be combined with HD Hyundai XiteSolution’s unmanned autonomous industrial vehicles (forklifts) and logistics control solution technologies. The key is to build an integrated system that connects equipment, platforms, and data into a single framework.
The two companies plan to jointly promote platform integration and proof of concept (PoC) in actual logistics sites. Based on the data secured, they will discover new business models and explore global business opportunities.
Kakao Mobility will expand its platform-based integrated control capabilities into logistics sites through this collaboration. Leveraging its experience in operating mobile entities accumulated through robot-linked services such as robot delivery and robot valet parking, as well as its advanced transportation management system (TMS), the company aims to connect various industrial vehicles in logistics sites to its platform and broaden the application of physical AI technology.
Specifically, it will focus on implementing a “seamless work optimization environment” by linking the entire logistics process—from order placement to middle-mile transportation on roads and warehouse operations—through a single platform. Starting with unmanned forklifts, the companies plan to establish standards for a next-generation logistics platform ecosystem that can integrate and manage various unmanned mobile entities, such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), on a single platform.
Kakao Mobility CEO Ryu Geung-seon stated, “This collaboration marks a meaningful starting point for expanding our integrated control capabilities for heterogeneous mobile entities across industrial sites. By combining Kakao Mobility’s software capabilities with HD Hyundai XiteSolution’s industrial vehicle and logistics solution expertise, we will enhance the logistics AX model and continuously expand the application of physical AI technology.”
