Google has released a native Gemini app for Mac, giving users on macOS 15 or later worldwide free access to the AI assistant through a desktop app that can be opened with the Option+Space shortcut.
The app lets users share a window or local file with Gemini so it can answer questions based on what is on screen, such as summarizing a chart or helping with a spreadsheet formula.
Google said the Mac app is its first release and that it will have more news to share in the coming months.
